CABIN RENTAL
INFORMATION
Once you have selected a cabin to rent please
call or email us as soon as possible as all reservations are made on a
first come, first served basis. Once you have requested a cabin with us, we will send out our Rental
Application Form and the Term
and Conditions form and mail completed forms back to us
with the required deposit. Once approved, your cabin confirmation will
be sent back to you.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND SECURITY
DEPOSIT
Rental fees vary depending on each
cabin's features, location and size. Great West Cabins charges an administrative
fee of $50.00 with each rental. A 50% deposit of the total amount is required
to secure your cabin with the outstanding balance and security deposit
due 45 days prior to the first day of your stay. If an approved booking
is made less than 45 days prior to the rental period, the full amount
is due (including security deposit) with the Cabin Rental Application
and can be paid by either Visa or Mastercard. Please note that
no charges will be placed on the card until the reservation has been confirmed.
All payments made within 45 days of a rental period must be made by
either Visa or Mastercard. Only upon receipt
of guaranteed funds will short notice bookings be considered for approval.
A VISA credit card can also be used as a security deposit. When providing
credit cards for security deposit purposes, the card must have a valid
expiry date effective at least 45 days beyond the end of the rental period.
(Please
note that 5% GST is applicable - excluding the Yukon, GST # 861286060 RT0001)
The security deposit for each cabin is $500.00 unless otherwise
indicated and is due along with any outstanding balance.
DIRECTIONS &
ACCESS
Keys and directions to the cabin will be mailed
to you 1- 2 weeks prior to occupancy, however, in some instances, keys may
be picked up at a neighboring cabin.
RENTAL ETIQUETTE
All
cabins are privately owned and as such should be treated with the same
respect and care you would as though it was yours. Each cabin contains an
information package. This package provides valuable information regarding
local marinas, watercraft rental info, locations of interest and
attractions, local restaurants, grocery stores, and other tourist
information. This package will also provide specific information for your
cabin regarding "house rules" that have been set forth by the
cabin owner. It also contains inventory, cleaning lists and emergency
numbers. This package will also usually contain detailed information
on garbage disposal, water/hot water and septic systems that are specific
to the cabin you have rented. These are areas you will want to pay
particular attention to as the water and septic systems can be very
sensitive to heavy usage and can leave you "high and dry" if
used improperly or excessively. As most cabins use either well or lake
water, you should note if and where (ie. kitchen sink) the water is
filtered. Generally speaking, if not specified, bottled water is a good
idea. We encourage you to read through this package as early as possible
as you are responsible for following those guidelines. If you are unable
to locate this package, please call our office as soon as possible.
In
the event of accidental breakage of property, we politely ask that you
contact Great West Cabins as soon as possible as a matter of courtesy to
the cabin owner and subsequent renters. (Please note that cabins are
routinely inspected between rentals and any overlooked deficiencies are
usually quickly discovered by the owner or subsequent renters)
Your
cabin has been stocked with all the necessary consumables for you to
enjoy. We kindly ask that you replace all items that are used up,
including, but not limited to, propane, condiments, and cleaning
products. Your cabin must be left clean and tidy for the owner or
subsequent renter. A cleaning checklist is provided and it is the
renters responsibility to ensure the cabin is thoroughly cleaned prior to
check out. (If cleaning is included in the price of your rental we
will reiterate this in the confirmation letter.) All garbage including beverage cans are to be taken with you and
disposed of properly as outlined in the package. Failure to replace
consumables, tidy and clean the cabin, and remove ALL garbage will result
in charges being levied against the security deposit.
The rental
period, unless otherwise stated is Saturday to Saturday with check in at 4
p.m. and check out at 11 a.m. The cabin owner or designate will be
responsible for checking the cabin between these times.
